Florida Hospital Heartland Division offers a complete package of benefits to meet the needs of today's staff members. Florida Hospital Heartland Division staff who work 24 or more hours a week are eligible for medical, dental, life, accident and long-term disability benefits. Below is a summary that highlights the key benefits offered at Florida Hospital Heartland Division. These benefits packages may change at any time. Benefit plan documents always take precedence over this or any other list.


Retirement Benefits

Florida Hospital Heartland Division has put a progressive retirement benefits program in place that is designed to give Associates investment choices to meet their financial goals.  

  • Adventist Health Retirement Plan (AHRP) - The AHRP Retirement Plan is a 403(b) retirement savings plan that offers Associates the opportunity to save and invest their money on a pre-tax basis. Florida Hospital Heartland Division matches a percentage of employee contributions to the 403(b) up to a maximum based on a percentage of employee pay. The match is only for eligible Associates. Financial advisors are on site to assist with financial planning and investment strategy.


Paid Time Off

The primary paid time off benefit account is used for personal time off, such as vacation, holiday, personal needs and illness.


Insurances

  • Health Insurance - Group health insurance is available for eligible Associates, their spouses and dependent children. Health Insurance premiums are paid on a pre-tax basis. The health insurance plan is a preferred provider plan that offers comprehensive medical and pharmacy benefits.

  • Dental Insurance – Florida Hospital Heartland Division offers two indemnity plan choices.  Both of these plans permit the use of any dentist, provide financial incentives to use preferred provider dentists and require the use of claim forms.  Dental premiums are paid on a pre-tax basis.

  • Cancer & Specified Diseases- This is a supplemental insurance plan that offers cancer and specified disease coverage for you and your family in the event of cancer or other specified diseases. 

  • Life & Accident Insurance - Eligible Associates are covered by a group term life insurance policy and a group accidental death and dismemberment policy in the amount of your annual salary paid by Florida Hospital Heartland Division.

  • Voluntary Life & Accident Insurance - Group term life and accident insurance is available to eligible Associates, their spouses and dependent children. The employee pays for the coverage.

  • Short- & Long-Term Disability Insurance - Group short and long-term disability insurance is available to Associates to protect against the loss of salary or wages if they should become disabled. These are voluntary plans and paid for by the employee.

  • Vision – This is a Vision reimbursement plan that reimburses eligible employees and their eligible dependents for covered vision expenses. 


Flexible Spending Accounts

These programs are a provision of the Section 125 tax law that allows you to deposit a portion of your gross income into a spending account which is used to pay for medical, dental and vision expenses as well as daycare expenses.  You save 25% - 40% on federal, state and FICA (Social Security) taxes on the money that you set aside. 


Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Network Program provides support, resources and education to help Associates be their best at work and at home. Services are free and strictly private within the limits of the plan.


Tuition Reimbursement

For those wishing to finish their education or pursue more training, Florida Hospital Heartland Division reimburses for expenses for education and training in healthcare careers.


Direct Deposit

As a convenience and so that funds are immediately available, payroll checks are deposited directly into your bank account.


Employee Referral Program

Associates who refer friends to Florida Hospital Heartland Division can earn significant bonuses if those candidates are hired for positions that receive sign-on bonuses as a result of the employee's referrals. Bonus amounts depend on the positions filled.
