Florida Hospital Heartland Division held a hometown send-off event for a well-loved physician on Tuesday, March 29. Dr. Edwin "Cary" Pigman, an emergency physician, will be leaving Florida Hospital for a number of months to serve in Iraq.

Tim Cook, CEO, shared meaningful scriptures to express the importance of Cary's work and encourage him in his calling to serve.  "By faith Dr. Cary Pigman accepted the call to extend the healing ministry of Christ to a war torn country, giving of himself in a way that inspires and motivates others to step up to a higher calling."

Pigman is in the Army Reserve and will serve a brief tour in Iraq beginning in April. Pigman has not been deployed overseas since the late 1980s and is taking this great opportunity to go over and be a part of the medical team.
